In diesem Beitrag ziehe ich ein ehrliches Fazit zu meiner Illumicrate-Abozeit. Dabei geht es nicht um ein pauschales Urteil, sondern um eine persönliche Bestandsaufnahme: Welche Bücher habe ich gelesen – auf Englisch oder auf Deutsch? Welche sind geblieben, welche weitergezogen und welche liegen noch ungelesen im Regal?
Einige der Titel habe ich auf Englisch gelesen, andere auf Deutsch, entweder weil bereits eine Übersetzung erschienen ist oder weil sie später noch auf Deutsch herauskamen. Manche Bücher sind zwar inzwischen auf Deutsch erhältlich, warten aber noch ungelesen auf ihren Moment. Genau diese Unterschiede wollte ich für mich einmal bewusst festhalten.
Zusätzlich beziehe ich in diesen Recap auch drei Bücher aus der Sci-Fi-Buchbox mit ein. Da ich keines dieser Bücher bisher gelesen habe, habe ich mich entschieden, diese Box wieder zu kündigen. Nicht aus Frust, sondern aus der ehrlichen Erkenntnis, dass ein Abo für mich nur dann sinnvoll ist, wenn ich die Bücher auch wirklich nutze.
Dieser Beitrag ist daher weniger eine Bewertung der Boxen selbst, sondern vielmehr eine Reflexion meines eigenen Lese- und Konsumverhaltens. Geschmäcker ändern sich, Prioritäten auch und manchmal passt ein Abo einfach nicht mehr zur aktuellen Lesephase.
